Some Digits Display Incorrect/Missing Data

On a functioning scoreboard all digits will display dashes (-) when the scoreboard is first turned on and communication has not yet begun. If your scoreboard displays some dashes but other digits display odd characters, the figure 8 or nothing at all, it is likely that there is a faulty digit or cable causing the data stream to break. It only takes one bad digit or cable for the rest of the board to not function correctly.

The problem digit is usually the first one that displays incorrect data or the one previous to it. We diagnose this problem by skipping data over a suspect digit to make sure the remainder of the board is functioning correctly. Once we find the faulty digit it is just a matter of installing a replacement.
