Scoreboard Access

Getting access to the internal electronics of the scoreboard is important for diagnosing and repairing most scoreboard issues. There are two main types of scoreboard and the instructions for getting access is different for each.

TYPE1

This type of scoreboard has ledges around the digits and windows. To get to the control card and power supply you will need to remove the panel in front of the clock or game timer. If it is an outside board you will need to break the seal around the panel before removing the screws. Once you remove the screws on the front, the panel should come off to reveal the electronics.

TYPE2

This type of scoreboard has a completely flat front face. Access is gained to the scoreboard via the left hand side (it can also be the right hand side on some occasions) frame panel. This panel will have screws rather than rivets. If it is an outside board you will need to break the seal between the frame and the scoreboard face. Once the screws have been removed you can slide the front of the scoreboard out of the channel to reveal the internal electronics.
